Project details

The Ausgrid Mt Ku-ring-gai Office refurbishment project, was part of a comprehensive overhaul of Ausgrid’s existing office facilities.

The project aimed to modernise and enhance the office environment to reflect the organisation’s commitment to sustainability and employee well-being.

Central to the refurbishment were the introduction of new meeting rooms, breakout spaces equipped with advanced AV technology, end-of-trip facilities, modern furniture, and the upgrade of associated services to meet current and future needs.

Our role

Our engagement with Ausgrid spanned the entirety of the project lifecycle, from initial conception through to completion. Key initial steps included organising briefing workshops with Ausgrid stakeholders to define the project brief and align expectations.

Our responsibilities extended to the onboarding of a diverse team of consultants, including interior designers, services engineers, and BCA/DDA specialists, among others, to ensure the project’s compliance with all relevant standards and regulations.

Part of our role involved packaging the construction documentation and issuing it to builders under a tender process. We managed the appointment of the builder, the execution of contracts, and the oversight of the construction works to ensure they adhered to the agreed specifications, budget, and timeline.

We also obtained all necessary approvals for the refurbishment and provided support to Ausgrid in the occupation phase, ensuring a smooth transition back into the refurbished office space for all staff members.

Outcomes

The refurbishment of the Ausgrid Mt Ku-ring-gai Office presented unique challenges, particularly due to the need to manage the project within an occupied office environment. This necessitated careful planning and coordination to minimise disruption to Ausgrid’s operations while aligning with the established budget and program expectations.

Despite these challenges, the project was successfully completed, resulting in a new, more sustainable office fit-out that aligns with Ausgrid’s regional accommodation strategies.

The revamped office space enhances the work environment for staff and also signifies Ausgrid’s commitment to sustainability and modern workplace design, fostering a more engaging and productive office atmosphere.
