Project details

The refurbishment occurred within an occupied facility, necessitating careful planning and execution to minimise disruption to Aristocrat’s ongoing operations, relocating staff into an entire floor swing space to allow safe and time-critical construction to two floors at a time.

Managing a scale project within budgetary constraints required precise financial oversight and negotiation with the building owner. The transformation of an enclosed stair into an open, collaborative solution was a complex endeavour that demanded innovative fire engineering strategies.

Our role

In December 2018, we were engaged as the lead project manager for Aristocrat’s extensive 12,000-square-meter Macquarie Park premises refurbishment.

Our role encompassed various critical aspects, including defining budget and program parameters, managing the entire project budget, implementing a fire engineering strategy for open, collaborative spaces, and overseeing upgrades to seven floors of bathrooms, DDA compliance enhancements, and ground floor entry and EOT facilities within an occupied facility, minimising disruptions through strategic staff relocations.

Outcomes

Despite challenges, we ensured a smooth refurbishment with minimal disruption. We executed the project within budget, fostering open, collaborative spaces on each floor. Upgrades to facilities enhanced Aristocrat’s premises. Our project management facilitated a seamless transition to an improved workspace.
